Bernice was living outside with her siblings and Parents in a development near Newtown. We first heard about them right before Hurricane Sandy hit. We weren't able to capture the family until after the storm. Bernice was the only kitten left. We don't know what happened to her siblings.
Although she was frightened when she first came inside she has warmed up to her foster mom quickly. She was very calm while she got combed and had a few matts removed from her long fur.
She has tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia. She has been treated for fleas and other parasites and will receive age appropriate vaccinations.
