Description:Erin and her sister Emily were found outside an apartment complex in Bristol Township. We think they were born outside and they weren't rescued until they were at least 3 months old. During that time they learned to fear.
They have never been aggressive but are still fearful even after being in foster care since last summer. They are doing much better and both like to be around people and enjoy being pet. Erin has recently started coming forward looking for attention and will frantically head butt your hand and get all excited. She, like her sister, gets apprehensive when she's picked up and will hold on for dear life. She seems to like being combed which is good because of her long hair. She doesn't seem to develop mats but appreciates a little help sometimes. She's a good girl when getting her claws clipped.
She and her sister would be best with an experienced adopter. We truly believe that the girls eventually will get comfortable in a forever home and be sweet cats but they need someone who will be patient with them and is familiar with acclimating a fearful cat into a household. They would be best in a quiet environment and we wouldn't recommend them living in a home with small children because of how active and unpredictable little kids can be.
They do not have to be adopted together and would probably be fine alone or with another pet with a compatible personality after an introduction period.
They have tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia and have been treated with Revolution. Erin is also spayed & up to date on her vaccines.
If you are interested in adopting Erin you can fill out an application online or you can visit Erin at our adoption center located at the Newtown Petsmart.
**** Erin will be with us a year in July. Please, if you are an experienced cat person, consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl *****
